On July, 11 CPA`s joined their firms to form the „BTR Beratung und Treuhand Ring, Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft“ - later renamed “Nexia Deutschland”. The motivation for the medium sized auditing and tax consulting firms to join and form the cooperation was to counterbalance the growing impact of the big auditing companies and obtain size and weight to enter a membership with one of the worldwide networks of accounting firms.
Consistent with this strategy BTR became subscriber of Spicer and Oppenheim International Ltd. and after its restructuring, the German partner of Nexia International Ltd. , a group of audit, tax and consulting firms operating in 92 countries around the world.
"Spicer & Oppenheim“ becomes part of „Nexia International Ltd", a group of accounting firms represented worldwide in 79 countries. “BTR” is the exclusive representative in Germany.
DHPG Dr. Harzem & Partner, with offices in 8 locations, joined the group. This almost doubled the numbers in staff and fee income and added new skills and resources to enhance the range of offerings.
After 35 years of operations as „BTR“, the partners adopted the name of "Nexia Deutschland GmbH" as a link name to demonstrate their affiliation to Nexia International..
